We are living in the globalized environment of fast technological development and a constant change. The ability of quick adaptation to changes is becoming one of the key competences of contemporary business world. Nowadays organizations need to redefine the way, how they are organizing their business activities and search for more innovative and authentic business models. Knowledge based economy needs high level of technological literacy of all involved parties. To have an access to knowledge centres and ability to transfer it in practical use, as soon as possible, is one of the most critical factors of business success.

In academic environment we are still lacking praxis of a good and sustainable collaboration with end users from different industries. To publish a paper in science cited journal is still ultimate and only goal of many researchers. The problem is that we have extensive repositories of theoretical knowledge, but with very limit influence to the praxis.

The same situation and problems we have when we are organizing researchers (academic) events. They are in most cases for academics and researchers only. How to bring all this new knowledge closer to the potential users from the industry and praxis is one of the big challenges of the present time. We are searching for new innovative technologies which will enable knowledge transfer to the praxis.

The IPMA Festival of Knowledge is one of those kind solutions.

This is the second IPMA Festival of Knowledge. The heart of this cluster of different events is IPMA Research Expert Seminar (9-10 March 2010) with the focus on "Program Management in the New Economy Environment".
