Thomas Baumann

Dr. Thomas Baumann, born in 1960 studied physics. After some years in the power plant industry he got in contact with the matter of project management and joined a management consultancy. Using his experiences in the power plant and offshore industry he implemented project management in international and global acting companies. Later he joined the large German Automaker Volkswagen AG as principal of the Volkswagen consulting and was responsible for the strategic development of the component plants esp. in Germany. Because of his strong ties to project management field he was asked to establish and manage the center of competence of PM of VW in Wolfsburg, Germany. Dr. Baumann became the leader of Business Processes and IT-Strategy at Volkswagen of America in Detroit, USA. Today he is Director of the orbitak Consultancy company and CEO of the Orbitak International LLC in Detroit USA.

 

Since more than 14 years he is working/leading consulting projects & programs mainly in global acting enterprises in the automotive & supplier, public and banking industry.

 

Mr. Baumann is specialized in the fields of strategic consulting, business processes and project management- especially PM-maturities and new trends in project management. During the last years he was focused into the transfer of results from fields like expertise research, neurobiology and complexity management into practical hints for the field of (project) management and published several papers and book chapters. He did his doctorate in the fiels of "Communication, Cooperation and Partnership – value enhancement by transfer newest results from neurobiology into the modern (project) management.

 

Thomas Baumann won with his colleagues Manfred Saynisch and Dr. Louis Klein the 2010 International ICCPM research prize.

Hans Thamhain

Dr. Hans Thamhain (hthamhain@bentley.edu) is a Professor of Management and Director of MOT and Project Management Programs at Bentley University, Boston/Waltham. Dr. Thamhain, held management positions with Verizon, General Electric and ITT, has written over seventy research papers and six professional reference books. He received the IEEE Engineering Manager Award in 2001, PMI's Distinguished Contribution Award in 1998 and PMI's Research Achievement Award in 2006. He is profiled in Marquis Who's Who in America and certified as NPDP and PMP.

Amaro dos Santos

Dr. Amaro dos Santos (amaro.ufpr@gmail.com) is a Professor of Operations and Project Management at University of Paraná (UFPR), Curitiba, Brazil. He founded and coordinates the MBA in Project Management at UFPR. He also founded the Brazilian Association for Project Management (ABGP) and is a former IPMA 1st Assessor for Levels B-C-D. He has published over 50 scientific papers and oriented over 200 academic works about Product Development, Operations Management, Project Management and Sustainable Innovation Management.

Eric Svaan

Dr.Brane Semolic (brane.semoli@siol.net) is a Professor of Project, Technology and Virtual Organization Management and Head of P&T Institute at FL – University of Maribor. He is Chairman of IPMA Research Management Board and first assessor in 4L IPMA PM certification program. He is visiting professor at Cranefield College and University of Southern Denmark. He has published over 400 works and has more than 30 years of working experiences as expert, researcher, consultant, project manager in industry. He is Distinguished International Fellow (DIF) appointed by International Cost Engineering Council.

Les Squires

Squires' middle name is Collaboration. Serving for 15 years on the 32,000 member Boston Computer Society, and having headed a Boston-based application development company for 25 years, he blends what makes for successful information technology projects and successful organizational development. Clients served include Microsoft, IBM, Massachusetts DOE, Dynamics Research Corporation, New England Telephone, Parker Brothers, SAAB, Disney, LoJack and many more.

 

Most recently Les has been field testing social networking approaches in the U.S., Asia (India, Nepal and China) and Central Europe (Slovenia and Croatia). He has successfully implemented installations of http://ning.com in such diverse areas as medical clinical testing, computer animation, executive information systems, alternative currency syndication, Internet protocol TV, year-round conference support, apartment complex community building, and others. Stacy Goff
